TECHNOGYM, the world leading producer of design and technology-driven fitness equipment and solutions, is announcing new products, digital innovation, and technology integration at the 36th edition of IHRSA 2017 (Los Angeles, March 8-11), the most important convention and tradeshow for fitness and wellness in the Americas.

Following the great success of SKILLMILL, the first all-round product for power, agility, stamina and speed training launched during the Rio Olympic Games, TECHNOGYM launches at IHRSA 2017 the new SKILLROW, the first indoor rowing equipment capable of improving anaerobic power, aerobic capacity and neuromuscular abilities in a single solution. SKILLROW represents the second product of the SKILL LINE, created for athletic performance training. This unique piece of equipment is designed to provide an unparalleled feeling that simulates the actual act of rowing on water: AQUAFEEL: SKILLROW resistance follows the natural curve of the stroke in the water, and with AQUAFEEL the resistance is gradual, making the movement fluid and avoiding the backlash effect on the lower back.

At the heart of SKILLROW is TNT – TECHNOGYM Neuromuscolar Training, a new methodology developed by TECHNOGYM’s Scientific Department that helps create high intensity workouts aimed at improving sports performance. Thanks to the MULTIDRIVE technology (patent pending), users can add a further resistance on top of air resistance, changing the equipment mode from cardiovascular training to power training by simply adjusting the resistance level. Users can also enjoy a more motivating digital experience thanks to the dedicated SKILLROW APP, which includes a variety of training programs and tools to monitor and track results, and to get real time bio-feedback on the training metrics to improve performance, and even challenge friends.

Furthering the brand’s reputation for innovation and growth, TECHNOGYM is also announcing an initiative with IBM to build, within the Technogym Mywellness cloud platform, next generation’s Watson Artificial Intelligence-driven cognitive coaching platform for health and wellness. The goal is to create a Technogym “human-like” virtual coach able to interact with people using natural language and to offer them personalized training programs based on their goals and context conditions (such as weather, agenda, health conditions, food intake) in order to enhance a healthier lifestyle. Wellness and fitness industry operators and personal trainers will also benefit from the new cognitive coaching platform, as it will allow them to continue to provide coaching to clients who may be traveling or training outside the facility.

In line with its mission to reinvent the way people access wellness, fitness and health, TECHNOGYM will be furthering its footprint in the technology sector by introducing an outstanding series of new digital products at IHRSA 2017. These developments will include, among others:

  • MYWELLNESS APP, that has been completely redesigned based on the feedback of thousands of users and operators to enhance their experience both inside and outside the club
  • the new TEAMBEATS™ solution, an innovative format for group activities and classes that combines variety, efficiency and fun
  • the new SKILLROW APP, allowing trainers to organize races of individual participants or crews, with a virtual coach always available
  • the new evolution of the GROUP CYCLE APP for UNITY SELF to manage video and music content while displaying TECHNOGYM Group Cycle equipment in real time
  • the new RACES APP for UNITY TREADMILL that allows users to challenge other runners in the facility in real time competitions, either in an Olympic arena or on the New York or Rome marathon routes.

With education for trainers and professionals, TECHNOGYM is furthering its partnership (announced in 2016) with NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association) to create educational content for the fitness industry. The first of a new series of NSCA approved TECHNOGYM Product Workshops that will qualify for CEUs, will launch this month.

Finally, TECHNOGYM ARTIS continues to maintain its central role among TECHNOGYM’s offerings with a collection of 30 top of the range product for cardio, strength and functional training.  ARTIS brings together the very best in style and design, with biomechanical engineering and interactive technology. ARTIS is also the only collection of environmentally friendly wellness equipment, with unique patent-pending technology that allows people to reduce, recycle and even renew energy generated during their workout. With ARTIS, gym members and operators alike can contribute towards creating a sustainable gym and a more sustainable planet.
